Choosing The Right Clientele

As an entrepreneur, the right client can make your life easier. You need someone who understands what they want and communicates well so that you don't have any misunderstandings when it comes time for you to serve them. This also makes you more productive for those clients. A good client not only makes a difference for how well things go at work, but also impacts what kind of employee we are - both as an individual and professionally speaking. How do you know if a client is the right client? Great question.

Here’s a couple things to remember when assessing a potential client.

- Always have a clear vision of your goal for them. If you’re not clear and on the same page about what you’re achieving you’re in a recipe for disappointment from them and wasted time and energy on your part.
- It’s okay to say ‘No!’ If they’re not an ideal client, don’t go into it. Turning down the wrong clients gives you time and freedom for the right clients and we all know that “time is an asset!”

Collaborating With People To Make Money Work For You

Believe it or not, we excel at two to three things. You can’t be good at everything. You just have to be honest with yourself and figure out what works for you. Here are guides to help you through:

  1. Be around people that excel in areas you’re less familiar with.
  2. Focus on your strengths. If you’re good with ideation but not implementation, find someone that excels at implementation to work with.
  3. It’s all about having the right people in the room.
  4. You want to have a self-managing company so that you work ON your business not IN your business.
